Observation

The Allegation: 110-300-0331 (1)(c) It was determined that more than likely than not that staff members BA and KS did not take steps to prevent and once aware must not tolerate threats of physical harm toward a child. staff member BA grabbed a child’s right arm, and forcefully moved the child away from her, and staff member teacher KS was observed to be holding another child by both wrists while his arms were up in the arm, KS was forcefully walking the child across the room to sit down. The child was leaning backwards with his feet out in front of him. The Allegation: 110-300-0331 (1)(d) It was determined that more than likely than not that staff members BA and KS did not take steps to prevent and once aware must not tolerate yelling and shaming multiple children in the three-year-old classroom. Teacher BA yelled at children to do certain tasks, such as “we are doing the alphabet” several times, sit on your dots”, yelled at the whole class "Excuse me! I'm going to give Miss Sarah a bad report, sit down now!”, “You just go over there." BA addressed the class and said, "The girls are doing good, and the boys are not." "Sit down now!”, Go over there! “To one child, BA yelled "Did I say you could do that? Go sit down now!", BA pointed her fingers at the children multiple times, yelling "Back on your circle dots! when a child stated that the child did not get a turn at teacher BA stated “You didn't earn it." The child was observed to move his shoulders up and down and walked away with his head pointing to the floor." Teacher KS addressed the class "If Miss Sarah would walk in here right now you would all be in so much trouble." The department finds that after interviewing the referent, staff member, parents, observations, and completing a physical walk though of the center that the said allegations are valid.
